Your responsibilities at C&A:

  • Drive and rebuilt C&A’s energy management for stores, offices and distribution centres towards up to date requirements and benchmark consumptions against best practice standards.
  • Provide technical and practical advice to building departments on energy efficiency for new and refurbishment projects
  • Develop new Energy procurement strategy to decrease consumption and increase the usage of renewable energy in our operations.
  • Lead retail operational efficiency efforts (water, waste, plastics,  transportation and energy) – ensuring records are maintained and collected and comply against external audit requirements
  • Manage contracts with service providers in conjunction with store operations, Distribution Centers and logistics (PPAs, waste hauling/recycling, etc.)
  • Lead the consumer facing plastic elimination program, tracking the progress over time and ensuring the goals are met
  • Manage In-store Takeback programme
  • Participate as C&A lead person for retail operations for the topics energy, waste, water and plastic in the innovator program at Fashion for Good
  • Develop EU Waste and Water policies and establish expert community within C&A to stimulate ownership, cross country teamwork and best practice exchange
  • Develop, coordinate and implement strategies and policies to reduce water and waste  consumption
  • Keep abreast of legislation such as the EU Emission Trading Scheme (EU  ETS) and ensuring compliance throughout the organization


What we expect of you:

  • 10+ years of work experience in energy management, procurement, technical facility management and project management of green energy
  • Track record of successful implementation of strategies & plans
  • Experience either in the fashion industry
  • Sustainability background preferred but not mandatory
  • Extensive project management experience
  • Ability to obtain buy-in and get things done
  • Fluency in English
