Our Merchandising domain is one of eight tech domains within C&A and shaped around 150 IT- and Design-peers. We are developing creative and innovative in-house digital solutions, web-based and Windows desktop applications.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Leading, coaching, and developing one or more cross-functional engineering teams to drive goals and objectives  
  • Establishing and maintaining a positive and productive work environment that fosters teamwork, creativity, and collaboration  
  • Fostering engineering excellence within your team(s) and identifying training opportunities and career development strategies  
  • Building engineering capabilities within the team to ensure engineering best practices  
  • Pairing with the Digital Product Manager and Product Designer on the steering of the team’s roadmap  
  • Managing Engineers, as well as hiring and retaining talents  
  • Staying up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and evaluating their potential impact on the company's products and services
  • Work closely with Product Manager to define product roadmaps

What you bring

  • Relevant experience as Engineering Manager or with a similar technical leadership role (minimum five years for a Senior role)  
  • Leading with humility, and empathy as well as experience with mentorship and the ability to effectively delegate  
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to present complex technical information in a clear, and concise manner to a variety of audiences  
  • Ability to split large features into smaller deliverables to deliver value as early as possible  
  • Strong technical and functional analysis also in Capacity Management  
  • Great passion for technology and software development 
  • Excellent understanding of software development lifecycle 
  • Excellent understanding of agile processes and ability to transform legacy departments into modern/agile working teams 
  • Has previously worked with product managers as an engineering peer to find best in class solutions for enterprise grade users 
  • Strong technical profile, Java and Python expertise are required, Cobol knowledge is huge plus.
